Independent, Non-Governmental, Non-Profit and Right Based
Erişim Destek Derneği (EDD), or the Support to Access Association (SAA), is an independent, non-governmental, and non-profit civil society organization registered in Turkey. Guided by a rights-based approach, EDD focuses on empowering the most disadvantaged and marginalized individuals and communities. Through fostering platforms, building capacities, and advocating for equitable access to rights and essential services, EDD aims to drive progressive social change and enhance resilience. Established informally in 2014 by a group of professionals dedicated to social development and humanitarian efforts, EDD was formally registered in Turkey in 2021. As a social and human development organization, EDD operates across diverse geographies and sectors, reflecting its commitment to inclusive growth and sustainable impact. EDD’s founding members bring decades of experience across a wide array of fields, including development, human rights, humanitarian protection, child protection, minority rights, organizational capacity building, cultural heritage, social work, education, livelihoods, psychosocial support, environmental sustainability, shelter, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), youth and women’s empowerment, and emergency response.
